Lake Camanche Fish Report

Lake Camanche Staff
Trout fishing was "off the hook" this week at Lake Camanche! The South Shore Trout Pond was a great place for bank anglers, especially right after Monday's trout plant. Bank angling was also good along the North Shore Day Use area. Anglers fishing from the shore are having the best luck with various sorts of jigs as well as powerbait. The Narrows are still a great place to go if you are looking to fish from a boat. This week we had two kids catch some nice sized trout back there using orange spinners (see picture below). Hat Island and the Dam also proved to be awesome spots for boat angling and most fishermen are trolling with lures. Rapala, Kastmasters, or Cripple Lures are really popular right now. Any spoon style lure is great. White grubbs are also pretty popular, although lures seemed to be the bait that was most talked about this week. Most people are catching trout within the first 20 feet of depth.
