ROYAL POLARIS SPORTFISHING TRIP UPDATE (022014)

2-21-2014
Royal Polaris Crew

LAST FULL DAY (021014) I was correct that today was our last full day of fishing and it was a little slower than some. The morning bite never materialized which might have been a first for this trip but we did score on and off during the day with Tuna from 35 to 135. We found one area where the Wahoo wanted to play and we hit them pretty good with at least two that should go over 50. There were no cows today but that was almost not the case in a big way. Tom Yuch had the heart break of the day and probably the heart break of the trip for that matter. He was on a monster Tuna just shy of forever and only feet from the gaffs the spectra broke. I know it's totally cliché to say "the big one got away", but this behemoth was CLOSE, and every one got a good look at it. Average guesstimates from the skipper, put it right at the magic 300 mark. Of course we'll never know what it went for sure, but after the disappointment wears off Tom will be left with a memory of lifetime. We can fish around a half day tomorrow and then it's off to Cabo. We've all been fishing extremely hard and we wont stop now. POEM OF THE DAY We were judging who would get fatter A Blow Fish or a Puff Adder Before we voted They both exploded So now we'll decide biggest splatter.

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 226-8092 to get in on the action.
