"Proposal for Company Support and Contribution to aid children and our fisheries "


Our objective is to gain support in our efforts to educate children on the joys of fishing and to promote conservation of the white sturgeon in our area. Please join us by participating and contributing prizes to enhance the raffle held the eve of the 8th Annual "DIAMOND CLASSIC" Catch & Release Sturgeon Derby on Saturday-January 25, 2014. This raffle is held at the free pre-derby seminar held on Friday January 24th 6pm-9pm at the Event Center next to La Tapatia Restaurant 536 Main Street--Martinez, Ca 94553.

We, Flash Sport Fishing, Martinez Marina and Bait & Tackle Store feel a responsibility to promote the conservation of the white sturgeon because of it decreasing population over the years. The Department of Fish and Wildlife through their studies validate this steady decline, which makes conservation an absolute must, therefore the "catch and release" format.

The "DIAMOND CLASSIC" Catch & Release Sturgeon Derby has proven reputable through its SEVENTH Year. 100 Percent of the Derby's registration money goes back to the fisherman in the form of cash awards. Our focus over the past three years has been to draw the younger generation into the derby to show them the joys of fishing and participation grows annually. This Derby benefits everyone, kids and adults, in terms of education and the great fun to be had catching and releasing fish for prizes collected from our sponsors, such as your Company may provide. The consensus of the fisherman for the year 2013 was that they had a fair chance of winning based on the well thought out and organized structure of the derby.

Every year the "DIAMOND CLASSIC" has grown with increased participation and because of our focus on conservation. ALL sturgeon are RELEASED. Last year we had 367 adult entries and 101 that entered for free in the KIDS division. We expect to grow to over 150 in the KID'S division this year.

Our seminar last year was standing room only. 2014's seminar will include sponsors raffle presentation, VHF radio etiquette, rules and regulations of the derby, favorite fishing holes and weigh master information. All sponsors of cash donations and prizes may represent their companies and present their donations to the raffle winners. This would be a great opportunity for our sponsors to advertise their business with a booth and other products as well.
