It's really chilly here at Collins Lake so get out your warm woolies along with your fishing gear! Limits of trout continue to be caught, they actually Love..... the cold weather. Sydney Foster, pictured above from Live Oak & her Dad trolled near the island a couple of days ago and she caught her limit of trout while trolling with Powerbait. Christmas Day is the only day in December that our gate and store will be closed. Anthony, Alyssa, & Hailey from Gridley caught 8 beautiful trout from shore near the beach using Powerbait. Mark & Jeremy Gaede had no problem catching two full limits of Rainbows on yellow Powerbait down by the dam. Yes, the lake is low right now but access to the shoreline is great, you can drive down within a few feet of the shoreline anywhere in the Open Area near the dam.

Kristi Waters, from Elverta brought her whole tribe fishing for the day and they "cleaned up" on the trout. They fished from shore and used Powerbait, of course! Jim Cleary hooked a 3 lb. 12 oz. trout on green Powerbait by the dam while Bob Thorn caught a 2 lb. 12 oz. trout while trolling a Sling Blade & Apex lure. Little Leeana Campbell, of Roseville showed up both these guys with her 4 lb. 4 oz. Trout which she caught from her campsite.

Natalie & Bouzer, hooked a giant 7 lb. 8 oz. Catfish on Powerbait off the sand beach! Natalise helped her Daddy (Vincent Vang), hook two limits of trout by the dam on a worm/Powerbait combo.

A cute little guy named Ezekiel, caught his first trout limit with help from his Grandpa Sam Briefman and Sam's lovely new bride Elaine!! Elaine is a "fishing guru" who has an annual pass and fishes Collins Lake religiously, she even hunts too! That lucky Sam, she is an outdoorsman's dream girl.......

Nick Leonard from Galt picked up three nice Rainbows in Elmer's Cove and he fishes with Powerbait.
