Santa Ana River Lakes is also known as the Big Fish Lakes, just this past week there were 19 trout that were over 10 pounds reported and checked in at the tackle-shop. Heaviest trout of the week was caught by Nick Nunez of Buena Park. Nick landed a 15 pound trout using a Ripper worm fishing by the boat dock. Anthony Lopez, pictured above of El Monte caught a 14 pound 8 ounce trout using chartreuse garlic Power-Bait fishing from La Palma point. Chau Vo of Anaheim caught a 14 pound trout using a night-crawler at Levitz corner. Dave Pierson, Photo #1 of Garden Grove & Jeff Berg of Lakewood caught 5 trout totaling 50 pounds, their largest trout at 13 pounds using green dough bait soaked in Lip RipperZ Love Sauce fishing in Chris' Pond. Paul Hansen of Newport Beach caught a 13 pound 8 ounce using a Lip RipperZ jig also in Chris' Pond.
