The skipjack were harder to find for the Royal Polaris. The result, only 1 Cow for the day
12-12-2013
Bill Roecker
"The skipjack were a little harder to find this morning," reported the Royal Polaris December 10, "and the dark catch went proportionately down because of it. Ed Delaney and Neil Campbell each scored tuna approaching cow status on skippies before the sun came up and there wasn't a whole lot else going on in the pre sun up bite, Later in the morning Neil got a 224 off the kite which ended up being the only cow for the day. There were several others as the day wore on that challenged the mark, and bait as well as kite fishing was improved over yesterday though still no wide open bite by any stretch of the imagination. Nick Didovic was the hot stick of the day catching a limit of wahoo by every means possible, bait, jig and kite. In addition he landed two nice tuna also. Weather was a bit overcast and it rained lightly for about five minutes. Wind was moderate and again it was a pleasant day over all."
