Fishing on the upper Pecos River is good

Pecos River: Water flow near the town of Pecos on Monday was 41 cfs. The Mora and Jamie Koch fishing and recreation areas have reopened. The Bert Clancy and Terrero campgrounds remain closed. The upper Pecos was rated as good by anglers using salmon eggs and a variety of flies for trout. Chris Ortega reported good fishing on the upper Pecos. He was using egg patterns and streamers and caught and released several very healthy trout. Fishing in the Villanueva area was fair to good for anglers using salmon eggs and small copper John Barrs.
