Arizona Game & Fish Department

With less than six weeks to go, there is still time to put your name in the 2013 Fish-of-the-Year record books.

Big fish so far include a 4.4-pound rainbow trout, 8.2-pound largemouth bass, and 1.3-pound redear sunfish -- all from Red Mountain Lake in Mesa.

Other notable catches include an 8.3-pound channel catfish (Kiwanis), 13-pound carp (Kennedy) and a 42-inch white amur caught and released from Green Valley. Application forms and instructions are in the current Urban Fishing Program guidebook. Some categories have had no entries yet, particularly catch-and-release. Updates on the current leaders can be checked out at www.azgfd.gov.
