Fish Report for 11-11-2013
Ranger 85 is seeing very good fishing for Rockfish & a 40 lb. Halibut
11-11-2013
Frank Ursitti - Ranger 85
This past weekend, we had conditions that only fall can bring to the Northern Channel Islands.
We started the weekend off on Friday targeting both rockfish and big game filming and episode of "Sportfishing with Dan Hernandez". While the game fish were absent, yours truly did manage to land a 40 lb class halibut on live squid.
We then finished off our day fishing for rockfish that only these islands can produce.
Saturday found us at San Nicolas Island with the Gold Coast Lady Anglers onboard for one of the best times on the water this season.
Such an incredible group of anglers to fish with, the GLA's know how to have a good time, and how to put fish onboard.
We managed full bag limits for the 29 anglers, and that means some 580 combined fish for their efforts.
Sunday found us right back out at Nic, with a lite load of only 19 onboard. The sheephead wanted to bite in the dark, and by sunrise we had full limits and spent the rest of the morning fishing the kelp edges, boiler ridges and hard bottom regions for full limits as well.
The weather was picture perfect, and the fishing unsurpassed.
We have our final 2 Day Trip of the year onboard the Ranger 85 departing November 22 at 10 pm.
Don't miss out, as there has been lots of squid around, and with a tank or two onboard, the fishing has been great.
There were a few gamefish around the islands, so you never know what could be in store.
Reserve your place onboard on what promises to be a great trip.
You can book online direct @ Ranger85.com or contact our office @ 805 382 1612.
We look forward to seeing you onboard,
Capt. Frank
