"We had a nice morning of yellowtail fishing," reported Andy Cates for the Red Rooster III October 14. "We left and went looking offshore after lunch for only a little sign of tuna on porpoise. We did have quite a bit of wind so it made it hard to look. Maybe tomorrow, if the weather is better. We are going to fish yellows in the morning and then start heading south if the weather permits."
The previous day Cates said, "We had a great day today. From morning until evening it was great action on Yellowfin tuna. Fish up to 40 pounds and plenty of smaller grade 12 to 20 pounders, bread and butter-grade fish. Anyway, we are moving down and fishing Yellows tomorrow. The weather down below has come up and we are going to fish on the beach until it passes."
