Fish Report for 10-12-2013
Fly fishing was off the hook this week at Lake Crowley
10-12-2013
Crowley Lake Fish Camp
The fly fishing was off the hook this past week. The North Arm has been the place to be. We have been fighting some algae on a few days, but it
seemed to be just in the top couple of feet, the bottom was clear. Leighton Springs in 8 to 10 feet of water has been very productive. Albino Barons and Copper Tigers early, then if you see some bugs start hatching, go to the Shaft or Super Fly. This time of year, the bugs may
or may not hatch, it all depends on the weather.
The other place to go has been 6-Bays. Here you will be fishing a little deeper, 13 to 14 feet of water at the base of the drop offs has been the best. Make sure you have a perch pattern somewhere in the line up. They don't hit them every day, but on the days that they want the perch, it pays to put one in front of them.
I've been fishing the same flies here, Albino Barons, Copper Tigers, and some of the grey patterns. They are calling for a bit of wind over the weekend, but it should turn nice after this front blows through.
