Hoodad reporting in tonight. We finished up in style with EPIC ( a word that maybe gets used too much) fishing. As I reflect on the day, and the trip overall, it was an outstanding day. From before daylight until we pulled the anchor at dark, you could literally hook a good sized Tuna at any time during the day. We had seven going first thing in the morning and got them all through good crew work and the anglers working together very well. If my count is right, I think we caught 7 over 200 just today. We caught a lot of that "Teenage" sized fish, 140-190 lbs that will fool even the best of us thinking we have a much larger fish hooked. Chef Javier and I both feel this was an excellent trip, probably the best we have both ever been on. You jump on a trip and at the start we are all strangers except for knowing a few from other trips. And as the trip progressed, we became a bunch of new friends. We had anglers hook and handing Cows. A very unselfish group, everyone cheering at the taping of the fish, and one of my fishing career goals was almost accomplished: Everyone on the boat landing a cow! We almost did that. Only one angler did not catch a Tuna over two hundred pounds, and that angler chose to not land a Cow for his own reasons. Another highlight today was Jamie Massion landing a 213 lb Cow on his Accurate Twin Spin 50, Spinning reel ! Way to go Jamie!! All in all, I know I made a bunch of new friends, enjoyed lots of laughs, caught a few fish, and enjoyed mostly beautiful weather. IMO, it just doesn't get much better than this. Many more pics and a list of the Cow catchers to follow in the next couple of days.. "The Intrepid Team"
