Back out on a 5 day headed south for the Tuna grounds. We are still talking about last nights dinner of fresh White Sea bass prepared by Chef Javier. It was simply amazing!! Capt. Mike (Kona) Meredith has been on a hot streak with the big Sea bass. He brought in some of his fresh catch from Saturday morning and shared with the gang. Thanks Kona.. The weather is breezy and the seas have some chop to it, but is very fishable for the time being. We will be on the grounds just after lunch today. Wish us luck . We covered lots of water today and found very little in the way of Tuna. One Albacore for first timer Chris Sanchez from Houston Texas was our only Tuna for today. The current low pressure system moving up the coast has the fish on the down side so we are looking for something else for tomorrows action. We will be at Cedros tomorrow and will go for a variety of fishing opportunities that are available at the island. Maybe some Halibuts, Seabass, Yellows, and Calico's, for the day, sounds like fun. We spent our day working over the 135-165 mile zone in search of things closer to home. What we found is very promising for our fleet as a whole. The fish are moving up and we were able to find many spots of Tuna and some kelps for a few Yellows for the day. The Bluefin in this zone didn't want to bite very well, but we were very happy to see fish within range of the 2-3 day trips....... Read More
