16 Cows for Wahoodad and Willy
As we traveled up the line for the last couple of days we made a stop at one of our Yellowtail / Grouper spots for a few hours. We boated a few handfuls of Yellows and watched and yelled with laughter as many anglers got tooled by the big bottom dwellers. Chartermaster David Choate - AKA Wahoodad, was able to land a very nice one in the 100 lb range. The following day everyone enjoyed our Brunch on the Intrepid prepared by Chef Javier, which of coarse was a huge hit. After Brunch we spent a couple of hours catching and releasing some nice Calico Bass, then broke down our gear and headed for home. As most of you readers know, The Wahoodad and Willy trip focuses on Big Fish. We call this trip a Big Fish or Bust type of trip as we do not spend time hunting for anything other than Giant Yellowfin Tuna. This trip was a tough bite on the Big fish for most of the 5 days we spent on the lower banks. We did have two days that were pretty good for us and the other three days were a slow pick. We ended up with 16 fish over 200 lbs, 34 fish between 120-190 lbs, and another 20 fish in the 60-90 lb range. We are happy with our results and look forward to next years trip as everyone on board wants to fish together again. ETA 6:00 am Wed. Morning "The Intrepid Team"
