Hi everyone. We departed today at 1100 on a 3 day adventure. After putting on a beautiful load of sardine, we cleared the point just before 1300. The weather in San Diego bay was gorgeous today and we are currently traveling south to fish offshore. The weather should improve over the next couple days and this combined with the upcoming full moon should be very good for our bluefin tuna efforts. We have a great group of anglers on board and we spent the afternoon preparing for the fishing ahead. The anticipation of great things to come is very high. The picture today is of our Chef Paul and his assistant Kyle with tonight's dinner of panko bread crumb chicken with a verblanc sauce, rice, and fresh vegetables. Dessert was homemade keylime pie. We awoke this morning to 20 knots of wind and 5-7 foot seas. Needless to say, we were not productive on bluefin in these weather conditions. We did release quite a lot of decent grade yellowtail on kelp paddys which is good for later trips and kept us entertained. We did hook a large bluefin tuna on forty pound gear that spooled us.
