The fishing Bonanza continues. Pretty much everything on offer at the moment. We had a cooler week with Storm Manuel making a reappearance in the Sea of Cortez after trashing Acapulco. Days in the low 90's with cool mornings. A little rain with the storm but we had big surf that prevented boats going out for one day. We lost a lot of beach but it will come back in a week or two. For the first time this year we have had a regular supply of sardines. This, along with good Caballitos and the squid option, has made for a wide selection of fishing. The sardines really help the fly fishermen a lot, they are chumming a lot of fish to the boat. The Billfish bite continues to be strong. Blues, Stripers and sails this week. Yesterday in particular produced a lot of sails. Best area still off la Ribera but fish are spread all over the East Cape fishing grounds. Dorado action continues with schools of fish mainly off La Ribera. All sizes, average probably 20#. In the same area there have been football sized Yellowfin but that bite had become smothered by skipjack by the weekend. Better area opened up south of Frailes (about 30 miles from the Ranch) with better fish 20# plus. In this area you have a good chance at Wahoo as well. Amberjack,Pargo and Huachinango still on the bottom off La Ribera ,taking mostly Squid. The Squid bite is early so it's best to get down to the dock early, as you know we like to launch early at Leonero. Looking forward to October, one of the best fishing months!!!
