1 FIN, 2 FIN, YELLOWFIN, BLUEFIN The EL CAPITAN returned this morning from their 2.5 Day charter with 14 anglers catching 128 Yellowtail, 1 Bluefin Tuna, 140 Yellowfin Tuna and 11 Dorado. Absolutely stellar fishing for the boys out there!!!!!! Capt. Alan stays hot on the trail and the tails this season. Great time to get out and go fish! We also had the EL DORADO return from their 1.5 day trip with 33 anglers catching 165 Yellowtail, 27 Bluefin Tuna, 47 Yellowfin Tuna and 37 Dorado. Of those 27 Bluefin Tuna, 12 of those fish were 50-70lbs. Capt. Paul was very excited by some of the meter marks he saw an seemed hopeful to get back out an on those fish again!!! The NEW LO-AN also hit the docks this morning with their 24 anglers back in from a 1.5 day charter with a beautiful catch of 100 Yellowtail, 120 Yellowfin and 8 Dorado. The fish just can't hide from the boys this year. They continue to hunt down the fish and always seem to find something. The MISSION BELLE has been chasing Tuna, Yellowtail and Dorado offshore lately. Limits of Yellowtail, a few Dorado and a couple Tuna has been the name of the game lately. They are trolling, paddy hopping and looking for schools on the electronics. Trips are 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. and the cost is $130.00. Trips are limited to 38 people and are filling up fast!!!! Watch for the POINT LOMA'S limited load offshore 3/4-day trips scheduled through out the month. These trips are limited to 20 people, fishing offshore for Tuna, Yellowtail and Dorado. These trips will be trolling, paddy hopping and looking for schools on the electronics. Trips leave @ 5:30 A.M. and return @ 5:30 P.M. Cost is $140.00 per person. Rental tackle is available for $15.00 per person. Photo I.D. required for all passengers of all ages. Unfortunately on these limited load trips, No ticket books, military tickets or discounted rates apply. *BLUEFIN TUNA TACKLE* On these schools of tuna, DO NOT BOTHER WITH LINE LIGHTER THAN 30LB TEST. You want to have at least one rig with 50-60lb line and it wouldn't hurt to maybe have an 80lb rig. Hooks can be 2/0-5/0 and paired with fluorocarbon will be your best bet at landing these not so gentle giants. 2 speed reels can make a world of difference. If your trip is overnight or longer, plan tackle accordingly. *YELLOWFIN TUNA TACKLE* These Yellowfin have been mixed size from 12-45lbs. They are pretty eager to bite the 30-40lb line. 2/0-3/0 hooks, fluorocarbon and reels with smooth drag are all you need. These fish are not quite as capable of destroying tackle like these Bluefin we have been fishing. Yellowfin are also no stranger to surface plugs or yo-yo jigs. * REMINDERS & FAQ's * BEFORE BUYING A LICENSE OR PERMIT YOU MAY NOT NEED, CHECK WITH THE OFFICE TO CLARIFY WHAT IS NEEDED AND HOW TO GET THE CORRECT LICENSE. WE ASK THAT YOU ARRIVE AT LEAST 1 HOUR PRIOR TO DEPARTURE TO ALLOW TIME FOR CHECK-IN AND PARKING. NO COOLERS OR ICE CHEST OF ANY KIND OR SIZE ON ANY VESSEL IN OUR FLEET.
