Finally, the weather has backed off and we are enjoying a decent ride up the line. A little bit of what was working best for our fishing down below for you anglers on the up coming trip. The top producing rig was 100 lb. & 130 lb. Soft Steel Ultra Monofilament with a 5/0 or 6/0 hook for your sardine and a 8/0 or 9/0 hook for your Salami rig. The Soft Steel out fished all other lines and is perfect timing for our next 15 day Soft Steel Adventure with Tony Garza as CM. We also had the skipjack around at times and the 8/0 to 10/0 7691 Mustad worked well for the bigger baits. We found that the rough weather conditions needed a line that was more forgiving than the shorter fluorocarbon topshots normally used. We have plenty of Soft Steel here on the boat, so no need to run out to the tackle shop and pick up a bunch. The trip was very good for us on the big Tuna as we have a full boat of the 130-280 lb. fish in our holds. Today was spent with dice games, card games and lots of movies, while some took advantage of the nice weather and broke down some of the bigger outfits. What a great trip once again with our friends from WestCoastFishing.com. "The Intrepid Team"
