The Catfish bite at Lake Morena remains very good, as is the Bass bite

Lake Morena Staff
Lake Conditions Surface temperature is 74.7 Fahrenheit. The water visibility is clearing to about 2 ft.
** IMPORTANT NOTE** There are currently no state fishing licenses available in the Lake Morena area so be sure you acquire one before you arrive. The State Licenses is required.
Trout Over the past week no rainbow showed up.
Bass The Largemouth are still favoring plastic chasing them near the surface. Get your silverside look alike and dance them on the top. Plenty of 1 and 2 pounders were reported; all but a few caught and released. Larger bass are on the move as 4 to 10 pounders are being reported.
Catfish The Catfish have never slowed down with many limits reported. Nightcrawlers, Chicken Livers and Mackerel have been the ticket this week. One of the better spots was near the boulders at Cabin cove but other spots such as Horseshoe cove and Pumphouse cove did just as well. Jesse Hadaway and Ray Quecken, La Mesa, put mackerel to use just to the right of the boat dock to fool a basket full of cats with the largest two being 4lb 6ozer and a 6 lb 14 ozer.
Blue Gill No "gills" reported this week
Crappie The Crappie have been no shows.
Carp These fish are mouthing the surface parading around the boat dock. They are beginning to bite in the North end and in Horseshoe cove.
Boat Launch Conditions: Boat launching is open for private boats.
