Very slow on charters for Puerto Morelos area this past week and I would suppose it was partly due to the starting of school in the U.S. and the possibility of so much rainfall in the tropical zones. The fishing remained pretty much intact for a mixed bag catch that reflected a 13 fish variety for 14 days fished that included 1 sailfish, 10 bonito, 2 blackfin tuna, 12 giant barracuda, 2 wahoo, 3 Spanish mackerel, 3 jack crevalle & 1 rainbow runner for the surface fishing and 5 grouper, 4 snapper, 3 triggerfish, 8 soap fish and 7 strawberry fish for the bottom action.

PM Climate: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy days with temps from 72 nights to 88 daytime highs, along with scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the area.

Sea Conditions: Mostly light and variable surface breezes to about 9 mph from the easterly directions and very little swell condition with temps that reflected 84-85 degrees throughout the area.

Best Bait: The bait of choice for this area continues to be the ever present ballyhoo that is provided freshly caught on a daily basis.
