Fish Report for 8-12-2013
It has been some time since the San Diego fleet has seen consistent fishing like this

Frank Ursitti - Ranger 85
Hi everyone,
The bluefin bite continues as quality fish are being caught each and every day. Fish vary in size from smaller schoolies to larger 50 to 60 lb class fish...the latter being the most common. It really has been some time since the San Diego fleet has experienced such consistent and good grade fishing. 2013 has far out paced last season and we are only a month into it.
Those fishing upcoming trips need to come prepared with plenty of fresh 40lb and heavier. You may consider a lighter outfit, but at this writing, these fish are big and eager to bite. Flouro carbon gives the angler the edge, so come prepared as well. The bait has been on the large side, we recommend 3/0 and 4/0 hooks at this time.
We have just added a hot new trip to the schedule on the Coral Sea departing Thursday August 15 at 9 pm. This trip is limited to only 15 anglers.
The scores these past few days have been coming from easy 1 day range and is an excellent opportunity for those only able to get out on the water for one day.
In addition, we have openings on our popular 1.5 Day trips coming up as well. With the bite on, these trips sell out in advance. Please check our schedule online @ CoralSeaSportfishing.com and reserve today.
The Ranger 85 continues to march on as we head offshore daily as well. We have a great schedule of trips with availability on the horizon. With the bite on, many of our trips are full throughout the month but don't despair. At the end of August there remains several openings on our 3.5 day trip that wraps the month.
During September we offer trips from 1.5 to 3.5 days duration. These trips have availability, and September promises to be hot. Our most popular trips in September and October tend to be trips of that duration, therefore we have designed our schedule to accommodate our customers.
Don't delay in selecting your trips. You can view our complete schedule online @ Ranger85.com.
We look forward to fishing with you this season.
