Yellowstone Country Fly Of The Week

Blue Ribbon Flies
There is one insect most anglers do not consider imitating when searching the water with dry flies. During our summer months butterflies can be very important to anglers whether fishing rivers or streams or even lakes and ponds. Butterflies are found along all areas waters and in August and September Nick's Skipper Butterfly pattern works magic on all our waters. Often guides will use is as the lead fly, almost as an indicator in a 2 fly set-up trailing a $3 Dip for instance. Many times the indicator fly is the one taken! You will hear more and more about this fine addition to the fly box into the next several weeks so make sure you tie or buy a few and use them next time all other patterns fail. I guarantee it will bring up some very fine trout!
