2 Day Trip Recap

Below is a recap of our history making 2 day trip from Capt Tucker. (Final Count: 17 anglers: 37 White Seabass and 75 Halibut) We departed Channel Islands at 10pm Monday night with 17 eager and ready to fish anglers. With flat calm weather on the way out, we were able to tank up on squid. We started to fish in the grey light and started catching White Seabass. These fish average 15-25 pounds. Come lunch time we started getting into the Halibut. These fish averaged 30-35 pounds with 1 fish over 50 pounds for the day. At the end of day 1, we ended with 37 Halibut and 31 Seabass. Grateful to have caught what we did, we had a nice, relaxing dinner prepared by Andrew, tanked up on more squid and called it a night. Just when we thought there was no topping day 1, time to start again in the grey light. Before we knew it, Halibut were hitting the deck again, 38 to be exact! Today we had 3 fish over 50 pounds with the biggest being 57. A few highlights of the trip were; Charles Love Jr on day 1 caught a limit of Seabass (3) and Halibut (5). His trip total was 5 White Seabass and 8 Halibut. Next was Ryan Wade (he has never been on an overnight trip, let alone a 2 day and has never fished for either of these species). He ended his trip with 7 Halibut and 5 Seabass! Pictured is Charles Love Jr. with his jackpot fish for the first day. We will be posting more pictures as they come in. Thank you to everyone who came out and fished with us. It was a pleasure and look forward to seeing you again!
