The Nevada Department of Wildlife will hold a free fishing clinic Saturday, Aug. 10 at Floyd Lamb Park located off of Durango and Highway 95 in the northwest part of the valley. The class will begin at 9 a.m. and is open to families and individuals of all ages.
NDOW volunteers will teach such fishing basics as bait and lure selection, casting techniques and knot tying. The clinic will take place at Tule Pond inside the park. A Nevada fishing license is required for those 12 years and older. To register for this class visit www.ndow.org/Fish/Classes/ and follow the links for upcoming fishing classes. For additional information contact Ivy Santee at (702) 486-5127 X3503. The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) protects, restores and manages fish and wildlife, and promotes fishing, hunting, and boating safety. NDOW's wildlife and habitat conservation efforts are primarily funded by sportsmen's license and conservation fees and a federal surcharge on hunting and fishing gear.
