Blue Ribbon Flies
Purple Haze
The guides have kidded me all summer about how effective our Purple Haze fly pattern has been on rivers like the Madison and Gallatin and lately the Lamar and Yellowstone Rivers as well as Soda Butte and Pebble Creeks. I tend to shy away from attractor patterns like this but I do have to admit I have tried this fly on area waters and it is deadly, especially on the Gallatin and Madison. They conned Cam and I into making it our Fly of the Week.
