Why Clearwater Lodge?
There is so much beauty in this area that we call home. Here at Clearwater Lodge we are truly fortunate to have three Blue Ribbon trout streams within a ten minute drive. It is typical to see fewer anglers here during July and August which makes for some great fishing! It would be our pleasure to show you this gorgeous area, teach you the art form of fly-fishing or or build upon your existing skills while guiding you through the incredible nature that surrounds us!

A Tradition of Excellence in Angling Instruction Clearwater Lodge has the most extensive offering of Fly-Fishing Schools in the West. Over the past 30 years, we have instructed thousands of anglers in both the skill and pleasure of fly fishing. Our location in the heart of the finest wild trout fisheries in California means that after learning on our spring creeks and freestone waters, you can go anywhere in the country to fish and be comfortable.

Dining at Clearwater Lodge
The only thing that surpasses the fishing and rivals this beautiful scenery is our food! Thanks to Chef Noelle, each meal is a culinary delight. All of her menus are inventive and each dish is prepared using locally sourced and creative ingredients. The fishing is spectacular, but Noelle's food will keep you coming back!

Lately, we have been feasting on:

~ Jicama, Cucumber & Watermelon Salad with Queso Fresco
~ Achiote Marinated Mahi Mahi with Tomatillo Butter Sauce
~ Mexican Succotash with Chayote & Black Beans ~ ~ Penne Poblano
~ Blueberry - Mango Cornmeal Crisp with Habanero White Chocolate Ice Cream
~ Mixed Green with Strawberry, Almonds & Goat Cheese
~ Whiskey Marinated Beef Tenderloin with Mustard & Whiskey Sauce
~ Potato & Roasted Garlic Gratin
~ Zucchini Cakes with Basil Cream Sauce
~ Apple Crumb Pie & House Made Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

The 100 miles of forested mountain country between the volcanic peaks of Mt Shasta to the north and Mt Lassen to the south hold the finest concentration of wild trout waters in California. Two remarkable spring creeks and three freestone rivers offer a range of fly fishing opportunities unmatched on the west coast. In addition to these five rivers, we have a number of smaller spring-fed creeks and stillwaters that grow rainbows of impressive size and beauty. Because these rivers are all within easy driving distance of each other, Clearwater guides often take guests out on two or more fisheries a day.
