Captain Justin Fleck called in last night update us on the current Excel trip. We spent some time goofing around at the Islands. We did catch some nice big yellowtail and a couple Halibut. In addition, we had a couple "premium sized" Yellowtail. We are done on Yellowtail.

We then moved offshore to the Bluefin Grounds. We spent the morning looking around with some other boats. The fish did not bite until we all spread out around 1 PM. We did have good fishing from 1 PM until dark. The majority of the Bluefin are 30 to 40 pounds. There are some fish in the 50 to 70 pound class. We have seen some of the 100 to 150 pound fish but those fish are not biting. We will be fishing today and if we have success we will call in another report.

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619)223-7493 to get in on the action.

Justin Fleck called in with this on-the-water report from the Excel. He reported that they had a good day yesterday. They were looking for kelp patties to see if they might catch some Wahoo. They had a good time catching 2 Wahoo, a Yellowfin and 38 Dorado. Justin felt that what they saw was very encouraging for upcoming trips. They are headed up the line to check out Cedros & Benitos. They will be targeting Halibut and some Calico Bass....... Read More
