Fishing has been great at the reservoir. Our last trout plant was on May 28th from Mt. Lassen hatchery for 1,000 lbs of trout. On Sunday May 26th John Medlock from Richmond caught 2 trout both around 4 lbs fishing from the shore on the Southend. Frank Snyder, a local fisherman from Concord, was fishing off the Southend on a rowboat and caught 2 trout. One trout was 4 lbs and the other 2 lbs. He was suing needle fish as bait and chartreuse Power bait. On May 27th Luca (5 years old) and Kyle from Berkeley caught a 4.2 lb and 18 inches long trout, off a boat on the east cove. Kyle and Luca were using meps # 4 for bait. (see attached photo)The water temperature at 4ft is about 68 degrees so trout are still biting. Harry's cove and the southend seems to be the sweetspot so far this week for fishing.
