Fly fishers have mixed reports here. The best still water nymphing is occurring in the Hiltons, Sandy Pt., and Sometimes Bay 11-14 feet. Very good chironomid hatches for this early; the low water levels have the fish spread out and in different locations. Gillies, crystal pupa, & emergers #18 and 20 rock on the high pressure days. Stick to the ever reliable crystal tiger and zebra midges #16 and 18 for your larva/lower fly pattern. Be careful when navigating to and from the marina, there are some high spots especially around Hilton, Sandy, and Crooked Creek.
