Fish Report for 5-10-2013
Crowley Lake-updated
5-10-2013
Tom Loe
Fly fishers have mixed reports here. The best still water nymphing is occurring in the Hiltons, Sandy Pt., and Sometimes Bay 11-14 feet. Very good chironomid hatches for this early; the low water levels have the fish spread out and in different locations. Gillies, crystal pupa, & emergers #18 and 20 rock on the high pressure days. Stick to the ever reliable crystal tiger and zebra midges #16 and 18 for your larva/lower fly pattern. Be careful when navigating to and from the marina, there are some high spots especially around Hilton, Sandy, and Crooked Creek. Crowley Lake General Store has all my flies & Under-cators with a great breakfast and lunch menu.
