Happy Spring, Anglers!
OK, well at least it's spring in most places here in the states and that means the Baja fishing season is right around the corner. It's time to start spooling those reels, sharpening hooks and making plans.
First on tap is the East Cape Offshore Tournament, July 23-27, on the beautiful--and fishy--Sea of Cortez. Start the Countdown! Our presenting sponsor, Cabo Riviera is rolling out the red carpet at their full-service marina. Plenty of slips are still available and from the feedback we've heard about last year, the service and facilities are top-notch. To reserve your spot, visit the web site or give them a call.
And once again, the Valdez family and staff of the Hotel Buena Vista Resort will be our gracious hosts and serve as tournament headquarters. Fuel, supplies and water taxis will be available for those boats anchoring off the beach. If you'd like to stay ashore or have extra guests, rooms are available so make your reservations now.
Last year, due to popular demand, we added a $2,000 daily jackpot to the ECO prize structure and the response was fantastic. Even with the relatively low entry fees we still gave away nearly a half-million bucks as a result. So for 2013, I'd like to issue a challenge to all teams: Call, email, text, tweet and cajole your buddies. Tell them them to fish the ECO! If we can grow this event by only a couple dozen teams, we can easily have the first million-dollar tournament in East Cape. So let's make it happen.
See you where the fish are!
