"Our weather has improved immensely," wrote Frank LoPreste, "and we should arrive at Fisherman's Landing between 06:00 to 0630 hours, April 4th. A quick summary of our trip is as follows:

Day 1: Roca Partida, 30 Wahoo, 3 Yellowfin tuna 70 to 90 pounds.
Day 2: Clarion Island, 20 Wahoo and no Yellowfin tuna.
Day 3 to 7: Hurricane Bank, excellent fishing, limits of Wahoo and 130 Yellowfin tuna.

"Most of the fish were in the 70 to 130-pound range, with some 170 to 198 pounds. We also had 3 fish over 200 pounds. Largest fish was caught by Joe Amagrande at 255 pounds.

"We left Hurricane bank in search of 200-pound-plus fish. Spent three days at Clarion with one fish over 200 pounds, caught by George Kuechel, at 295 pounds. Because of poor fishing at Clarion we left the island and spent our last day of fishing at Alijos Rocks fishing Yellowtail and Cabrilla. Largest Yellowtail was caught by Mike Brown at 38 pounds.

"Winner of the Avet Reel loaded with Jerry Brown Line one spectra is Joe Amargande with a 255-pound Yellowfin tuna, caught on a sardine.

"Jerry Brown awards a $100.00 bill each fishing day for the largest tuna over 100 pounds. He also donated T-shirts for all, spectra scissors and glue along with hats for all. Thank you, Jerry Brown."
