Hi Fishers,

We wanted to give you a run down on how the season is going and what we are looking forward to. Boy, so far Captain Tucker, co-captains Luke and Vinny and the rest of the crew Ryan, Dan, Chase, Andrew and Cali have really been providing quality, fun and productive fishing trips to the Channel Islands. The catch has consisted of Rockfish, Whitefish, Lingcod, Sheaphead and a lot of smiling faces. The fish have averaged in weight from one to three pounds and the trophy's hitting as high as twenty five. We have been fishing San Miguel, Santa Rosa and San Nicolas Islands. The depth range we have been fishing is between 40 and 300 feet of water, so when coming out on the mirage you want to bring gear from your light bass stuff to the thirty to forty pound outfits.

We also wanted to touch on weather and how things are shaping up. The weather in March was nicer than the usual characteristics for the month. There has not been a lot of rolling over of the water so conditions have been pretty stable and we have not been pinned to the leeward side of the islands. In past years these good early spring conditions have brought us early showings of Seabass and Halibut that the Channel Islands are known for, so we are really keeping our finger on the pulse looking out for those fish.

You know fishing is fishing. Regardless of synopsis or future out look there are no guarantees in fishing. But what we can guarantee fishing on the Mirage at the beautiful Chanel Islands is a clean boat, great service from a knowledgeable professional crew with smiling faces and 100% effort to provide you the best fishing that the day has to offer.

The Mirage crew.
