Fish Report for 3-22-2013
4th Annual Fish4Food
3-22-2013
Channel Islands Sportfishing
From Jordan Brown of Ventura County Food Share.
"On March 19, over 300 people on 11 boats left the Channel Islands SportFishing Center to go out and fish for the 4th annual Fish4Food event. Over 550 lbs. of fish fillets were processed and donated to FOOD Share. This is so special because it can be rare that we have a fresh protein item available for the hungry in our community - even rarer that it is fresh fish. The fish caught will be a delicious & nutritious treat for our hungry friends and neighbors. Special thanks to everyone who participated to make this event a fun success - including the Channel Islands SportFishing team, Jerry Stussman, the 11 captains & deck crews, the Gold Coast Lady Anglers and all 300 fishermen/women."
We are already planning the 5th Annual in 2014!
