"Hello everyone out there, weather today was very good," said the report for July 12. "We had limit style fishing on 25 to 45-pound Yellowtail. We are going to spend another night here, and try to make bait after dinner. We'll try again for that same grade of yellows tomorrow till about noon and then head up the line for some offshore fishing."

At the dock July 15, chartermaster Jonah Li (the five-day trip was a Hi's Tackle Box charter) posed with his son Christian and a brace of typical yellowtail from Cedros. Christian is eight, and goes to Vallecito Primary School.

Russell Hubbard of Petaluma won first place for a 44.8-pound yellowtail. Bert Umstead of Apple Valley won second place for a 38.4-pound yellow, and Robert Hindle of LA was third, for a 35.8-pound yellowtail.

Four lady anglers who posed for a photo the day the boat left posed again with samples of their catch. The four are members of the Rounds family of San Diego: Izorline rep Kathy Rounds, Katie and Kristen Page and mom Nancy Page.
