According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the bite has slowed a little and the fish have again moved a little farther offshore, starting at about 16 miles or so and outbound from there. The skippers are still averaging a couple of billfish per day, along with an occasional quality sized dorado and an increase in the marlin action. We saw some good spots of tuna at about 18 miles or so, but they were moving very fast with the porpoise and difficult to catch up to. We saw quite a few sailfish with their sails up but they were not interested in the rigged bait presentations. Still, the fishing continues to be exciting for the anglers and if the tuna start to bite, it will be perfect timing. The inshore fishing continues to be on the slow side and the water inshore has been considerably off-colored and greenish tinted.

IZ Climate: Mostly sunny & warm days with a few passing clouds and temps that ranged from 71 nights to 89 daytime highs. Light & variable surface breezes.

Sea Conditions: Near excellent! Water temps in the offshore waters holding at about 83-83.5 and very blue, starting at about 8 miles from the Bay. Inshore waters about 81-82. Near flat-calm surface conditions throughout the area.

Best Fishing Area: Offshore, 16-20 miles, has been the best for the past couple of days, straight out from the entrance to the Bay.

Best Bait/Lure: Rigged baits have been working very well for the billfish and the dorado, but the dorado are more eager to take the artificials.

Bait Supply: Remains readily available everyday with an excellent supply of freshly caught baits for rigging and a good supply of live bait.
