Water Temperature: 54 Degrees

The water clarity at Del Valle lake is stained and minimal. This week the fly fisherman have been the most successful at catching trout. Because of the stained water the trout seem to prefer fluorescent colors such as; red, orange, purple, yellow with streaks of silver and gold. Shoreanglers are catching trout with Mice-tails and scented PowerBait, Rapalas, spinner bait or rooster-tails.

The Striped Bass bite has picked up a bit with small rainbow trout Rapalas. Catfish are hitting anchovies but the bite is slow. A Chinook salmon was caught trolling a Rapalas in Heron Bay, but we didn't get a picture.
