The latest edition of International Angler, the IGFA's official publication, says on page 20: "Frank LoPreste, owner-operator of the Royal Polaris, is a living legend of San Diego-based long range fishing. He is known for pioneering Clipperton Atoll, developing new long range techniques and taking others, such as kite fishing, to new heights."
Frank posted this February 13: "I received a call from skipper Jonathan Yamate this morning. They have good weather and decent fishing. Yesterday they boated 51 Wahoo and eight YFT from 80 to 175 pounds. This morning at 7:00 a.m. they had 15 YFT from 80 to 218 pounds. Mike Otahal landed a personal best at 196, Gail Lynch a 218-pound fish and another by Terry Hite weighed in at 218 pounds. We will report again tomorrow morning."
