Sport Clam season shortened at Dosewallips State Park

Action: The sport clam fishing season at Dosewallips State Park will open on April 1, 2013.
Effective Date: Dosewallips State Park: April 1 through Aug. 15, 2013.
Species Affected: All clams.
Location: Dosewallips State Park, in area defined by boundary markers and signs posted on the beach. This beach is located in Jefferson County near Brinnon.
Reason for Action: Recreational effort increased significantly in 2012, and the state clam share was overharvested, requiring WDFW to shorten the season by 3 ?? months in 2013. Oysters remain open year-round on this beach.
