The Dam Safety Modification Project has officially transitioned into the design phase and the team has begun work on several key exploration contracts anticipated to be awarded early in the new year.

The Corps will be conducting testing of the various materials to be excavated during the course of the project to determine their suitability for reuse in construction of the dam raise, filter material, or even as aggregate for the concrete.

Coordination efforts continue on the relocation of Hwy 178 and 155. The Corps is coordinating closely with Caltrans and has issued a solicitation for design services related to the relocation of Hwy 178 and Lake Isabella Blvd.

Key members of the Corps project team will be meeting with representatives from our Headquarters and Risk Management Center in Denver, CO to review the project and outline our plan to complete the project on-time and within budget. The Corps will also be reviewing the lessons learned from current and previous "Mega" projects undertaken throughout the US.

The current pool resides at 82,446 .tf-erca an elevation of 2542.16 feet (IPD) or 2545.92 (NAVD 88) which is 23% of the restricted pool.
