A.C. Boat Show Runs Wed-Sun At Convention Center

The Atlantic City Boat Show cruises into the Atlantic City Convention Center this Wednesday through Sunday, February 6th through the 10th. Admission is just $15 for adults, kids 15 and under are free (when accompanied by a paid adult.) Once again, the Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) is hosting a series of how to fishing seminars which kick off on Wednesday at 3 p.m. with a spotlight on weakfish with RFA managing director Jim Hutchinson followed by RFA-NJ chapter member and Time Out Charters captain Scott Newhall talking about South Jersey doormat fluke at 5 p.m.

On Thursday at 3 p.m. it's live bunker for trophy stripers seminar with Hutchinson which also focuses on ongoing menhaden conservation efforts by RFA, followed by a spotlight on kayak fishing with Ocean Kayak Pro staffer Chris Shoplock at 5 p.m. On Friday, the RFA-NJ chapter takes control of the A.C. Boat Show seminar stage, beginning at 3 p.m. with Capt. Fran Verdi of Fish the Drop Off talking about striped bass. At 4 p.m., it's RFA-NJ chairman Capt. Adam Nowalsky of Karen Ann II charters to talk about New Jersey wreck fishing. Then at 5 p.m. Capt. Bob Rush of Starfish Boats spotlights the New Jersey cod fishery which has gotten surprisingly consistent in recent years.

The Saturday seminars kick off at 11 a.m. with striped bass and the bunker run with RFA's Gary Caputi, followed by tips to finding and fishing structure with Capt. Steve Bent of Raymarine and Free Spirit Charters at 12:30 p.m., New Jersey canyon trolling with Capt. Franz Hueber of Libation Charters at 2 p.m., inshore light tackle pelagic with Jimmy Fee from On the Water Magazine at 3 p.m. and jigging/popping everything from bass to tuna at 4 p.m. with Paul Reyburn from JPR Rods.

On Sunday, Barnegat Light striper sharpie Capt. Steve Purul of Reel Fantasea Charters will kick of the final day of fishing 'how to' information with an informative look at light tackle stripers, particularly on artificial starting at 11 a.m., followed by JB Kasper of The Fisherman at noon with a presentation on rigging your boat for back bay action with summer flounder, weakfish, blues and striped bass.

In addition to the outstanding seminar line-up, RFA and the RFA-NJ chapter will be manning the booth next to the seminar stage and is offering some outstanding specials for folks who stop by. First, every new and renewing RFA member at the Atlantic City Boat Show this week will be automatically entered into a drawing to win a free pair of Hobie Polarized Sunglasses, the official sunglass of the RFA.
