"First being the amount of New Long Rangers," said Intrepid's report for January 31, "we have had the opportunity to help teach and share the experience of Giant Tuna fishing in the last couple of months. It started back in December when we began to see 5 or 6 newbies or first timers on a long trip and that trend has continued right through to this trip which had another handful of first timers. We have seen many new personal bests in these last couple of months.

"This trip had an individual and now friend Patrick Wichert, who had never been on a long range trip and started out on day one landing a new personal best tuna at 130 pounds. The second day, he bested that fish with a 160-pounder and on day four he topped that one with a 187-pound Yellowfin. Patrick also caught his first-ever Wahoo on this trip, but still was hard at it all the way till the very end when he topped his personal best for the fourth time in one trip, landing a 202-pound Tuna!

How's that for a first timer! Point is, if you think you are just not ready for a long trip or pulling on Giants, think again, because this crew will help you learn at an incredible rate and you will land that fish of your dreams. You just have to get out here and give it a try."
