Hello from your Lake Jennings!
The trout continued to be difficult but a couple of limits came from 100 ft. west of the Hermit Cove buoyline on salmon peach Power Bait. Trolling is still no fun. Bass are being caught off the points as usual. The hot new worm is the Orange Crush worms.
Best Catfish Spots: Anywhere along the dam buoyline
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally
Best Bass Spots: 40 to 50 ft. of water on the points
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Orange crush worms and ice jigs in 50 ft. on the points.
Best Trout Spots: Cactus Patch in 50 ft of water.
Best Trout Bait: The bait that catches the most trout is a 2 way tie: Salmon Peach Power Bait and crawlers.
Prognosis: We will stock another 1000 lbs. of Sierra 'Bows on Tuesday Jan. 29, 2013. The water temp is 58 and is ideal for active trout. Bass are in the 1 to 2lb. range. Caught in 50 ft. of water on the points ...Don't stop fishing for cats because the water is cold. Just fish deep!
Water Temperature: 58 degrees on surface.
