The Shogun lands 2 bluefin

Well the sieners didn't get them all! We landed two fifty pound bluefin tuna and put one smaller one in the fish well to truck back up to Monteray bay. The albacore fishing was good today and all this happened very close to San Diego.

7-11-2007Our first day out at sea and conditions have looked very good. Great weather,- the right water temperatures for bluefin and waters rich in bait just a few hours out of San Diego. Good signs of ocean life are everywhere- sea lions, seabirds, spinner dolphins, and fish jumping. Today we turned around, off loaded passengers and outfitted Shogun with the apperatice to collect and tag bluefin tuna. Stanford U/Monteray Bay Aqurieum is on the boat and we are headed out to the wild blue in hopes of finding some bluefin tuna that haven't been caught by the Mexican sieners that tirelessly prowl the baja coastline. ......
