During the 8th and 9th we experienced slow fishing overall. We fished the area of 80 to 90 miles from San Diego, the morning of the 8th started slow and picked up in the afternoon, while the 9th we had action right off the bat, then the albacore all but shut off for the afternoon and evening.

Today we left the harbor with a great load of sardines on a 3 day trip with high hopes for albacore. Reports of local fish within one day range didn't pan out so after dark we continued offshore in pursuit of longfins. The weather continues to cooperate with overcast skies and mild swells helping us scan the horizon for sign. The Shogun crew is anxious for action and we hope tomorrow the albacore will bite. ......
