Although we were having steady fishing at the bank, we just weren't getting shots at and jumbo cows like the guys here. We used yesterday as a travel day where we made our way into the island. As advertised, we picked throughout the day on good grade fish with a few shots at cows. We hooked five cows and landed four of them from 210-250 pounds. Jason Smith started it off at 0330 with his third cow for the trip, a 210. Jason later in the morning picked up a 250, both on mackerel. BJ Beck boated a 215 pounder after seeing the fish twice swim through the chunk line. Roger Elkins ended the day with a 216 caught on a flylined sardine. The weather is better for us here and we should be able to spend two more full days before we call it a trip. Wish us luck.
