"Weather continues to be on the windy side," recalled the report from Royal Polaris January 9, "with 18 to 22 knots of breeze, clear skies, and warm. The weather was not the only thing that was warm. We had a good day of Yellowfin tuna fishing. Most of the fish were in the 120 to 180-pound range, with four fish going over the 200-pound mark.
"Big fish honor goes to Robert Maes, with a 267-pound Yellowfin tuna. Robert and Craig Ito both caught a Yellowfin over 200 pounds, Craig's was 224, his dad's was 257 pounds. The other fish over 200 pounds was caught by Jack Preston, and this giant went 236 pounds. Rody Yoshinaka caught his personal best again today, with a 195-pound Yellowfin tuna."
