"We experienced a slower day of fishing here on the Intrepid," reported Intrepid skipper Bill Cavanaugh December 31. "We had some challenging conditions with 25 knots of wind and choppy seas through out the day. Although the fishing was a little slow, we did have our opportunities. We scratched away most of the middle of the day on 60 to 120- pound tuna, picked up some wahoo in the morning, and the highlight of the day was a fish that taped out at 240 pounds caught by angler Daniel Chun from New York. Daniel had his own hand held sat phone and was calling his buddies right after he caught his fish; classic. We did see better sign of big fish today and we have high hopes for tomorrow."
