The fishing at Lake Skinner is running from fair to good

Lake Skinner Marina Staff

Water level is down at least 10 ft. with more expected, due to there is no flow at the inlet. Water temperature is at 60'.

There are no Striper boils currently. Striper is an early morning bite using umbrella rig, hammer or flukes, trolling! After 10:00 a.m. it moves to a "shad" bite. The bite has slowed down for the striper with some reports of swimbait and white flies. Most of the action is near the marina or East Bay.

Trout are on the run and scattered all over. The "Panther Martin Lure", Super Duper, Mini Jigs, White grubs, Kastmasters, power worms or yellow garlic power bait are all working.

A few catfish are still being caught by the main buoy line with sardines, anchovies and night crawlers drifting them in the east bay on the bottom. Lg. Mouth bass have slowed way down but smaller ones hitting on Spooks or shad also in the east bay. Blue gill has slowed way down, due to it has been to cold for them. Next trout plant will be on December 21, 2012.
