Good morning folks. Yesterday started off well with fish right out of the gate in the grey of the morning. We strung together a few more stops and were looking forward to the afternoon when everything just went down. With fast action in the morning the rest of the day seemed "dry" with just an occasional strike after lunch. 45 albacore in the morning seemed like a good start but unfortunately it turn into the final outcome.
It could have been worse but it could have been better. Very little sign of albacore today. We caught 3 bluefin in the morning and have covered a lot of area. We just found a kelp with good grade yellows on it and that basically has been the start of our day. Yellows from 12 to 28 pounds with the first kelp in this area for 31 fish. I hope there are more around with the lack sign of tuna these yellows would save the day.

Everyone seemed to be casual with just a chance and the experience of tuna fishing. Fish up to 70 pounds were caught but mostly 35 to 50 pounders on fly line and kite. the sharks took a few in the evening but most of the day not a problem. Things perked up again in...... Read More
