Fall Fishing is in full swing at Cachuma Lake

The fall fishing is in full swing. Top water bite is ending and the crank baits are beginning to work very well. Good size largemouth have been holding on the main lake walls. Fish seem to be at all depths and definitely following the shad. As the water temps cool off, the shad will continue to move up shallow. Try to find the areas that are holding the shad. The bass will be there. For the crappie fisherman, it has been a great season with lots of big slabs showing up. Look for any kind of big trees in the water. There will be a few crappies lurking below. Be careful when navigating the lake. Low water levels have exposed areas that are usually deep. Good luck on the water!
